ICE PACKS

I am going to place an order for the ice packs and see if they will discount the shipping for our team.. If anyone wants me to place the order for them just email me by tomorrow...

On another note, just got back from the Dominican, next door to Haiti.. IT IS HOT HOT HOT!! You don't know HOT until you go there... I HIGHLY recommend the ice packs at least to be able to fall asleep at night.. Like I said, I'd be happy to place 1 big order if anyone wants them...

Here is the least expensive place I found instant ice packs. I purchased a box of 24 for $15. They also have BioFreeze which I use in a roll-on for muscle aches and pain, it works GREAT if anyone needs stuff like that. 13 days to Haiti.

Great team meeting Sunday night! Mike and Amy went over a lot of information given to them by some other team leaders who just returned from Haiti. Security and safety are a big concern and we were informed that unless the entire team goes somewhere no one goes. Went over our daily schedule breakfast by 7:30am, hit the rode by 8am, maybe lunch around 2-ish and then back by 5pm for dinner and post day meeting. Everyone seems excited and anxious. It is very hot in Haiti, heat index for tomorrow is 115 degrees...but at least it cools down at night to a bone chilling 92! Do they make battery operated air conditioners? Lol!

Continuing to work on my packing list. I found large body wipes to use just in case we cannot shower. Anyone else planning to sign-up for a Go-Team, I definitely suggest using "Midwest Travel Medicine" for your vaccines, and they provide invaluable travel information for the country you are going to.

I got my 6th shot, one more to go on May 13th! Yippee! Start Maleria medicine on May 11th and continue weekly for 7-weeks. Starting to pack and organize. I got some great stuff from Travelers Clinic to spray your clothes with that will not only repell insects, especially mosquito's it kills them! Non-harmful to humans and one spraying last 6-weeks. I purchased a big bottle if any of you want to use it. have a great weekend! JR

Had 6 of my 1st set of shots, arms were really soar last night BUT fine today.. I went thru Midwest Travel Medicine in Naperville and insurance IS paying for everything.. BCBS HMO.. Peggy (the travel nurse specialist) is giving me the accelerated version of all the shots so I will have all 3 done before the trip.. YEAH!!!

Great meeting last night according to my wife (RC), learned a lot and met the team, she thinks we are going to do a lot of good in Haiti, God willng!

1Month to go!!

1 Month from today we have the honor of going to Haiti and helping in any way we can.. I am so excited...Donations are going so well, no more worries.. Meeting tonight to prepared for the trip...Can't wait for May 18th!!!
